Warwickshire County Council Efficiency Plan
Warwickshire County Council’s Financial Contribution to the Coventry Growth Hub
Local Authority Multi-Academy Trusts
Warwickshire Youth Justice Service Strategic Plan
Replacement of the Council’s Human Resources Management System.

Members of the public are welcome to attend this meeting but please note that the last item is exempt and will be discussed in private.

Overview and Scrutiny Annual Report 2013/14 – now published!

I’m pleased to announce that we’ve just published our Overview and Scrutiny Annual Report for 2013/14.

The report brings together all the major pieces of scrutiny we’ve done over the past year, including in-depth reviews of Council and local health services, the performance of individual departments, and the ongoing improvement of services.

These are summarised as ‘Key Outcomes’ which provides a snapshot of each Overview and Scrutiny Committee’s key achievements over the past 12 months. The report is available here: Annual Report 2013/14

Thank you to all of the members, officers, partners and members of the public who have contributed to and participated in Overview and Scrutiny during the year.

Get Involved

Councillors are about to start discussing ideas about what key topics and issues should be scrutinised over the next 12 months. If you have any suggestions, please either leave us a comment below or email us at democraticservices@warwickshire.gov.uk

Cabinet 24th May 2012

The Cabinet of the County Council will meet next on Thursday 24th May. There’s plenty on the agenda including:

  • The new ICT strategy
  • A review of the County Council’s new organisational structure
  • Transport on the A5
  • Development of a sexual assault referral unit
  • The growth of a number of schools across the county

Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting, which starts at 1.45pm in Committee Room 2, Shire Hall, Warwick.

This Thursday sees the Council’s Cabinet meeting at Shire Hall, Warwick. Items on the agenda include,

  • Community Meals
  • The proposed Closure of the Warwickshire Pupil Referral Unit
  • A Memorandum of Understanding between the County Council and Northamptonshire Fire Service
  • LPSA 2 – Affordable Housing Allocation
  • Going for Growth – The Council’s medium term plan
  • The Revised Member Development Strategy

Cabinet agenda – now available

The first Cabinet meeting of 2012 will take place on Thursday 26 January – and you can access the papers here.

Warwickshire’s Cabinet is made up of 10 Conservative councillors, each with a particular area of responsibility (‘portfolio’) for policies and services. Among other things on the agenda, they will be considering:

  • The latest information from Central Government that the Council needs in order to fix its budget for 2012/13
  • A revised set of ambitions with the outcomes and targets that the Council should strive to achieve over the next two years
  • A formal agreement to continue and develop collaborative work with Coventry City Council and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (in order to improve quality and efficiency of services)
  • The implications of the Government’s Troubled Families Initiative
