Health and Wellbeing Board – 7 September

Warwickshire’s Health and Wellbeing Board brings together a wide range of partners from local authorities, health organisations, the Police and Crime Commissioner and Healthwatch to consider the strategic health and social care issues for the County. Amongst the items this time are the Annual reports from the Director of Public Health, a presentation on transforming care for people with learning disabilities and an update on plans to align the Boards for Coventry and Warwickshire.

Health and Wellbeing Board – 6 July

Warwickshire’s multi agency partnership Board for Health and Wellbeing next meets on 6 July at Shire Hall in Warwick, starting at 1.30pm. This time, the Board will be considering the following items:

  • Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
  • Coventry & Warwickshire Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP)
  • Coventry & Warwickshire Health & Wellbeing Alliance Concordat
  • LGA Integration Tool
  • North Warwickshire Borough Council Health and Wellbeing Working Party
  • Warwickshire Health & Wellbeing System Development

The Board will ask partners to ensure effective health representation as part of the recently established MASH initiative, from those who commission or provide health services, as well as the Council’s Public Health team. Updates on the STP and Alliance Concordat will be provided. As part of this, the Board will be asked to pilot the LGA Integration Tool, a self assessment tool for measuring levels of integration within health and wellbeing systems. A report will also be provided by North Warwickshire Borough Council on its recently established working party for health and wellbeing.

Focus on Health

Two health-related meetings are taking place on 11 May, both at Shire Hall in Warwick.

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee for Adult Social Care and Health services will meet at 10am. This time the members will receive presentations from the Care Quality Commission on how inspections are conducted, both at care homes and at hospitals specialising in mental health services. In addition, the Committee will review the Annual Report of Healthwatch Warwickshire.


In the afternoon from 1.30pm, the multi-agency Health and Wellbeing Board meets. This body brings together providers and commissioners of health services, local authorities and a range of other organisations, to focus on strategic health issues. The Board’s Agenda tomorrow includes:

  • Feedback on an Integration Summit and Concordat
  • An update on the Sustainability Transformation Plans
  • The Better Care Fund 2016/17 Submission
  • End of Life Care Report
  • Heathwatch Priorities 2016/17

Adult Social Care and Health OSC – 6 April

An additional meeting of this Overview and Scrutiny Committee has been called for 6 April 2016. This meeting will receive the Annual update from the Health and Wellbeing Board (HWBB) and an update on Coventry and Warwickshire’s joint plan in response to Winterbourne View and the Transforming Care Fast Track Status, designed to support the local reshaping of services away from institutional models of care to strengthened support within the community.

Councillor Izzi Seccombe, Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board will provide the update on the HWBB, with Jacqueline Barnes from Coventry & Rugby CCG reporting  on the Transforming Care Fast Track Programme.

Public Transport in Warwickshire – Bus Services

The Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee will meet on 9 March 2016.

The agenda for this meeting includes a presentation from the Managing Director of County’s principal bus operator, Stagecoach Midlands.

This will accompany a detailed report which explains the roles of the County Council, the current legislative framework for providing local bus services  and  the financial support from the authority for socially necessary bus services. The report also details the roles of bus operators.

The Committee will consider the ‘call in’ of  an executive decision made by  the Portfolio Holder for Transport and Planning in relation to  the Nuneaton and Bedworth Off-Street Parking Places Order 2016.

Other business at this meeting includes the regular update on the work of the  Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership and a review of the Committee’s work programme.

Adult Social Care and Health OSC – 2 March 2016

Documents for the next Adult Social Care and Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee have been published today. The Committee will meet at Shire Hall on 2 March at 10am.

Its agenda includes consideration of  the third quarter progress report on the One Organisational Plan performance. An update on the recommendations from the Winter Pressures Select Committee, held in October 2015 will also be provided.

The Committee will review its work programme and confirm arrangements for an additional meeting on 6 April.


Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee

The next meeting of the Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee will be held at 2pm on Wednesday 13th January 2016.

The Agenda for the next meeting will include the following items:

  • Update on Civil Parking Enforcement Contract

This will provide an update to the Committee after 12 months operation of the five year contract to deliver on-street enforcement and back office support with NSL Ltd.

  • Trading Standards

A presentation will be made to complement a report on the approach taken by the Trading Standards Service to deliver its statutory duties, to protect Warwickshire consumers and communities and to ensure Warwickshire has a fair and safe trading environment.
