Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee 14th June 2016

The next meeting of the Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee will be considering an extensive agenda covering a variety of topics. Items being considered at the meeting on the 14th June 2016 include:

Update on the Development of the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Warwickshire:

The children’s MASH became operational in May 2016. At this meeting the Committee will be updated in relation to how the MASH is currently being operated and any issues which have subsequently been identified. Members will also discuss how MASH updates around progress and performance will be delivered to the Committee at future meetings

Report of the Chair of the 0-5 Strategy Group on the Smart Start Programme:

The Committee will consider the above report which will update them on the work of the 0-5 Strategy Group to date, including Smart Start Project bids and future funding plans. The paper will provide members with an opportunity to consider and comment on the Smart Start Strategy and to contribute views on the 0-5 integrated model proposal.

Underperforming Academies in Warwickshire:

This report will serve to update members on the current performance of academies in Warwickshire and the process by which the Council fulfils its statutory duties. The responsibility for the quality of education and the standards attained in academies rests with the relevant academy trust and is overseen by the Regional Schools Commissioner.

The meeting starts at 10.00 on Tuesday 14th June 2016 in Committee Room 2, Shire Hall, Warwick and is open to the public (click here for the agenda and reports).
